Microwave Steak With Mushrooms
1-1/2 lb. round steak, cut into
serving pieces
1/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 tbsp. butter or margarine
1 tbsp. vegetable oil
1 clove garlic, minced
1 lg. onion, sliced
1/2 c. red wine
1/4 lb. fresh mushrooms, sliced or
chopped
Instructions
Pound meat to flatten to 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick. Combine flour, salt and pepper. Coat steaks on both sides with the mixture. Combine butter, oil, garlic and onion in a large microwave safe casserole. Microwave at high power for 3 minutes. Dip steaks on both sides in the oil and butter mixture. Arrange in the casserole in a circle. Pour the wine over, add the mushrooms, cover. Microwave at medium power for 15 minutes. Rearrange meat. Microwave covered another 15 to 20 minutes at medium power until meat is fork tender. Let stand 10 minutes lightly covered. Then serve.
