Turkey Meatballs with Barbecue Sauce
2 pounds ground beef or turkey
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/3 cup bread crumbs
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 egg, slightly beaten
Sauce
1/2 cup grape jelly
2 tablespoons vinegar
1 (12 ounces) bottle chili sauce
1 medium green pepper, 1" pieces
1 medium red pepper, 1" pieces
1 medium yellow pepper, 1" pieces
Instructions
Heat oven to 375 degrees. In large bowl, combine all meatball ingredients. Shape into 1" balls. Place on ungreased baking pan for 25 minutes or until browned. Then drain. In a separate pan, combine grape jelly, vinegar and chili sauce over medium heat. Reduce heat, simmer 5 minutes. Add meatballs and peppers and stir to coat meatballs. Cook over medium heat 5 minutes or until meatballs are heated.
Makes about 60 meatballs
