2/3 cup shortening 3/4 cup sugar 1/2 teaspoon grated orange peel 1 teaspoon vanilla 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice 1 egg 4 tbsp milk 2 cups flour 1/4 teaspoon salt 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
Instructions
Mix first 5 ingredients well. Add egg, beat until fluffy. Stir in milk.
Sift together flour, salt and baking powder. Add to wet mixture and stir to combine.
Chill 1 hour or more. Roll out and cut into shapes. Bake at 350 degrees F for 10-12 minutes.
Makes 2 dozen cookies
