2 tablespoon light corn syrup 1/2 cup butter or oleo 12 slices bread 1/4 teaspoon salt 6 eggs 1 1/2 cup milk 1 teaspoon vanilla 1 cup brown sugar
Instructions
In small saucepan combine corn syrup, butter, and brown sugar. Simmer till syrupy. Pour this mixture over bottom of 13 x 9-inch pan. Lay 6 slices bread over sugar mixture. Mix eggs, milk, vanilla and salt in medium bowl. Pour part of egg mixture over bread. Then layer remaining 6 slices on top. Pour remaining egg mixture over all. Cover pan and refrigerate overnight. Bake in 350 degree oven for 45 minutes (uncovered.) Serve warm with syrup.
