3 dozen canned snails

1/2 cup butter

3 tablespoons finely chopped parsley

2 large coves of garlic, crushed

1 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon white pepper

3 dozen snail shells or small drawn butter cups

Wash snails and drain well. Cream butter until soft in a small mixing bowl. Add parsley, garlic, salt and pepper. Mix ingredients well. Insert snail into each shell. Fill each shell with butter mixture or place 1 heaping teaspoon mixture on top of each snail in butter cup. Place snails in baking dish with open ends up. Bake in 400 degree oven for 10 minutes or until hot and bubbly. Serve at once with French bread to dip in butter sauce.
