Grandma's Apple Pie
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
2 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
6 to 7 cup thinly sliced pared apples
Instructions
Heat oven to 425 degrees. Prepare pastry. Mix sugar, flour, lemon juice, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt. Stir in apples. Turn into pastry lined pie plate. Dot with butter. Cover with top crust that has slits cut in it. Seal by moistening rim of bottom crust. Place top crust over filling. Fold edge under bottom crust pressing to seal. Bake until crust is browning and juice begins to bubble, 40 to 50 minutes.
