Lamb Casserole
1 1/2 boneless lamb shoulder, cut into 1 inch pieces
2 tablespoon melted fat
1 1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 teaspoon curry powder
Pepper to taste
1/2 cup chopped celery
1 1/2 cup chopped carrots
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/4 cup chopped green pepper
1 1/2 uncooked noodles
1/4 cup flour
1/2 cup garlic buttered bread crumbs
Instructions
Brown lamb on all sides in casserole in fat. Add 2 1/2 cups water with salt, curry powder and pepper gradually. Cover, simmer for 1 hour and 15 minutes. Add celery, carrots, onion and green pepper to meat mixture. Cover; cook for 20 minutes longer. Cook noodles; drain. Addto casserole. Simmer for 10 more minutes. Mix flour and 1/2 cup cold water to smooth paste. Add gradually to casserole, stirring constantly. Cook 3 to 5 minutes longer. Top with garlic bread crumbs. Broil until crumbs are browned.
Makes 6 to 8 servings
