Applesauce Barbecue Ribs
1 medium onion, thinly sliced and separated into rings
1 tablespoon margarine or butter
1 cup applesauce
1/2 cup catsup
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
2 1/2 pound pork spareribs, cut into 2 or 3 rib pieces
Instructions
Mix onion and margarine in a small bowl. Microwave at High (100%) until tender, 3 to 5 minutes. Stir in remaining ingredients except spareribs. Microwave at High (100%) until hot and bubbly, 4 to 6 minutes, stirring 2 or 3 times during cooking. Set barbecue sauce aside.

Arrange spareribs in 10-inch square casserole. Spread with 3/4 cup of the barbecue sauce. Cover tightly with plastic wrap. Microwave at High (100%) for 5 minutes. Reduce power to Medium (50%). Microwave 20 minutes. Rearrange and turn spareribs over. Cover. Microwave at Medium (50%) until fork-tender, 20 to 25 minutes. If using oven other than Sharp Carousel, rotate baking dish every 10 minutes during cooking. Drain.

Spread remaining barbecue sauce over spareribs.

Microwave, uncovered at Medium (50%) until barbecue sauce is hot and spareribs are glazed, 4 to 6 minutes. (1000 watt microwave oven.)
Makes 4 servings.
