Butterscotch Toast
1/4 cup softened butter or margarine
1/2 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
8 slices of bread, toasted
1/2 cup finely chopped walnuts or pecans
Instructions
Combine sugar and butter and mix until well blended. Spread each slice of toast with the butter mixture and sprinkle with nuts. Place slices on ungreased cookie sheet, buttered side up. Place under the broiler, about 6" from the heat, until top is bubbly and nuts are toasted. Cut slices in half diagonally and serve.
